Interim Green Bay Packers head coach Joe Philbin is singing the praises of the team quarterback, superstar Aaron Rodgers.

Philbin was happy to extol Packers quarterback Rodgers while speaking to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Philbin's praise of Rodgers, despite all his injuries, is notable, especially since Rodgers is nothing if not accident-prone. Last season, Rodgers missed the majority of the season due to a broken collarbone. This year, Rodgers injured his knee in Week 1 and also suffered through a groin injury.

Bleacher Report says that Rodgers had been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions thanks to his concussion. The Lions, in response, posted a 31-0 shutout win against the Packers, which seems to be a fitting end for what might aptly be called a “dumpster fire of a season.”

Yesterday's loss against the Lions was also the worst home shutout for the team since 1940. One might say that the loss is impressive in its ability to be so terrible.

The outlet is reporting that the Packers are under fire because of their inability to appreciate the extent of good that Aaron Rodgers does, in fact, provide for the team. And by starting a patently unhealthy player — who has suffered a series of debilitating knee injuries in addition to his recent head injury — the Packers were, in a sense, asking for a loss.

And even though Aaron Rodgers was aching to get back onto the field, per the outlet, he never should have been allowed to do so, especially if he was unhealthy in the first place.
