This offseason has already featured a lot of former Green Bay Packers players taking shots at Aaron Rodgers, and Jordy Nelson isn't quite sure why.

Nelson and Rodgers had a lot of success together, and in an interview with ESPN Wisconsin earlier this week, Nelson said he thinks the big reason people take shots at Rodgers is because of all the attention those comments get from the media.

“Everyone knows negativity sells,” Nelson said via Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal. “People don’t want to hear (the good). People feel better about themselves when they hear bad things about other people. And that’s why that gets more pub.”

Nelson points out that someone saying how good of quarterback Rodgers is won't get many clicks, which is why all the bad press gets all the attention.

“I mean, no one wants to hear that Aaron’s not only obviously a great quarterback but a great leader and does everything right. All right, there’s your story. What fun is that? So whenever they can, they go back to the well and get the same people to say the same stuff.”

Nelson not only thinks the comments are a bit out of line, but hd doesn't understand why people are mad that Rodgers wants players to practice hard.

“When you actually read the comments and what they say, it makes absolutely no sense,” Nelson said. “A quarterback expects you to practice well and do what you’re supposed to do on the practice field in order to be successful in a game? That’s pretty well what’s expected.”
