The Green Bay Packers are undefeated this season, but they will face some adversity with one of their starting offensive linemen expected to be out for the rest of the year. Lane Taylor will require surgery on his bicep and will likely be out for the season.

Last week, Taylor suffered a biceps injury during practice ahead of Green Bay's game against the Denver Broncos. As a result, the team placed him on injured reserve with the hope he could return later in the season.

On Tuesday, it was discovered that Taylor had torn his bicep and he was going to need to undergo surgery. Therefore, the belief that he could possibly return this year was shattered with the timetable for his recovery exceeding the rest of the season.

Taylor joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2013, but has become a mainstay on the offensive line in the past few seasons. The veteran offensive lineman has started in 47 games since 2016, including the first two games of this season.

Over that span of time, Taylor has mainly been Green Bay's starting left guard alongside left tackle David Bakhtiari and center Corey Linsley. From undrafted free agent to starting guard, Taylor has turned himself into a formidable piece for the Packers.

In Week 3, Elgton Jenkins filled in for Taylor on the left side of the offensive line. The Packers selected Jenkins with the 44th overall pick in this year's draft out of Mississippi State.

As Taylor heads to season-ending injured reserve, Green Bay will rely upon their rookie left guard to protect Aaron Rodgers moving forward.
