Ahead of the Monday Night Football matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions, the Packers listed tight end Martellus Bennett as inactive.

Bennett practiced with the Packers when they came off their bye week, but he was placed on the injury list with a shoulder issue Thursday and was listed as doubtful ahead of tonight's game. In his place, quarterback Brett Hundley will look to Lance Kendricks and Richard Rodgers at the tight end position.

After a stellar season with the New England Patriots in 2016, Bennett's numbers have diminished greatly this year, and the loss of Aaron Rodgers for possibly the season doesn't help matters. The Packers faithful have also seen him drop more than his fair share of passes through Green Bay's seven games.

Recently, Bennett took to social media to announce that he intends to retire after this season.

The injury bug has hit the Packers all season, but they get a break with offensive guard Lane Taylor listed as active tonight, as well as defensive backs Demarious Randall and Kevin King.

Green Bay is looking to secure their first win since Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6. At 4-3, they'll need to pull it together if they want to get back to the playoffs, or at least be in contention when Rodgers returns to health.
