On Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers made a move that no one saw coming. The team decided to part ways with tight end Martellus Bennett who was Green Bay's biggest free-agent acquisition in the offseason. Bennett signed a three-year deal with the Packers for $18.45 million after one season with the New England Patriots.

It didn't take long for Bennett to get picked up off of waivers with the Patriots bringing him back on Thursday. Bennett now rejoins Tom Brady and company as they try to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

After returning to the Patriots, Bennett took to Twitter with a pair of cryptic tweets which hint to the fact the divorce with the Packers didn't go so well.

Bennett's short stint with the Packers was disappointing, to say the least. The veteran tight end caught only 24 passes for 233 yards without a trip to the end zone and eluded to the fact he may be done with football after this season.

It'll be interesting to see if Bennett did indeed tweet about his time with the Packers and if he'll disclose what happened in Green Bay leading to his release.

In New England, Bennett will have a chance to reclaim last year's form. Bennett had a solid year with the Patriots and quickly became one of Brady's favorite targets in the passing game.  He'll try to repeat that successful time in New England while playing alongside Rob Gronkowski.
