The Green Bay Packers made headlines with the hiring of former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur as their new head coach. It appears he has already gotten well-acquainted with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Green Bay finally introduced LaFleur as their next head coach with a press conference. According to ESPN's Packers reporter Rob Demovsky, he said Rodgers expressed his optimism about getting to work for the 2019 NFL season.

“I cannot wait to get to work with him. I think he's equally excited.” He said he spoke to Rodgers briefly before he accepted the job. GM Brian Gutekunst asked Rodgers to talk to LeFleur once they zeroed in on him.

LeFleur has certainly come a long way over the last two years. He made a name for himself as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams following a spectacular 2017 campaign. Under the tutelage of head coach Sean McVay, they helped the Rams' offense go from worst to first in the league that season. As a result, the Titans jumped at the chance to have him call plays this year.

It is encouraging to see that the two have already started to hit it off. There was plenty of speculation regarding what Green Bay was looking for in their new head coach. Many felt they would go with an established veteran to pair with a player of Rodgers' caliber, however, it appears they went with the young upstart instead.

Although Green Bay is saying all the right words amidst these new changes, all eyes will be on how the relationship unfolds between LaFleur and Rodgers come next season.
