The Green Bay Packers are set to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game this weekend. Ahead of Green Bay's pivotal matchup, Matt LaFleur spoke about the 38-10 loss that the Packers sustained to the Buccaneers back in Week 6.

“I think our team has come a long way from that day, but everything's just words at this point,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur said Monday, via the Associated Press. “You've got to go out there and you've got to have a great week of preparation and you've got to go earn it on the field. So that'll be our mindset and that's how we'll approach it.”

Back in Week 6, the Buccaneers got the best of the Packers as they routed them 38-10. Aaron Rodgers would finish the game with a dismal 160 passing yards and two interceptions as Green Bay's offense couldn't get into a rhythm.

However, as Matt LaFleur points out, both teams are completely different heading into the NFC Championship Game. But in the past 12 games (including playoffs) since that loss, the Packers have averaged a whopping 31.5 points per game.

While the Buccaneers have also hit their stride offensively, the Packers have improved on defense. Even though the first meeting left a bad taste in Green Bay's mouth, LaFleur isn't trying to harp on the past.

“What's happened in the past at this point, it really doesn't matter,” LaFleur said. “It's about what we do moving forward.”

Regardless of the changes that both teams have made since their first clash in Week 6, LaFleur is hoping that the Packers can avoid a blowout for the second time this season.
