The Green Bay Packers found their new head coach on Monday, hiring now-former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur for the job.

LaFleur was blown away over the fact that the Packers chose him from one of the most prestigious posts in sports:

LaFleur is regarded as one of the top young minds in the NFL.

The 39-year-old earned his first NFL coaching job in 2008 when he was named the Houston Texans' offensive quality control coach, a position he held for two years before being hired by the Washington Redskins as quarterbacks coach in 2010. He held that post until 2013.

LaFleur then spent one year as Notre Dame's quarterbacks coach before becoming the Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach in 2015, a position he held for two years. During that term, he combined with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to develop one of the most explosive offenses in the league at the time.

LaFleur then headed to the Los Angeles Rams, joining Sean McVay's staff as offensive coordinator. More of the same results ensued, as the Rams had one of the NFL's best offenses in 2017.

He then made his way to the Titans, where he not only landed the offensive coordinator job, but was also given the freedom to call plays, a distinction that he did not have during his years with the Falcons and the Rams, as Shanahan and McVay handled the play-calling duties for the two respective ballclubs.

The Packers are coming off of a season in which they went just 6-9-1, missing the playoffs for the second straight year. It marked the first time since 2006 that Green Bay failed to qualify for the postseason in back-to-back campaigns.
