Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is granting Aaron Rodgers the freedom to change things at the line of scrimmage. Milwaukee Journal Sentinal‘s Tom Silverstein reports that LaFleur has given the quarterback the green light to do what he needs to the do; whether they are audibles, route adjustments, hots, etc.

However, the question remains how much will Rodgers do at the line of scrimmage.

LaFleur should grant access to everything Rodgers needs to do to set his plays. He's not going to be coddled like some quarterbacks; he's a two-time MVP.

Rodgers, like very few veteran quarterbacks, does his best when he can adjust based on what the defense gives him. It's second nature for him, as he said to Packers News.com:

“That's not like a humblebrag or anything; that's just a fact. There aren't many people that can do at the line of scrimmage what I've done over the years. I mean, obviously, Tommy [Brady] can do it, no doubt. Peyton [Manning] could do it. Drew [Brees] can do it. [Patrick] Mahomes will be able to do it. Ben [Roethlisberger] has called the two-minute for years. There are a few of us who've just done it; it's kind of second nature. And that's just the icing on the cake for what I can do in this offense.”

Calling plays at the line of scrimmage is what Rodgers does. Though there were rumblings over LaFleur restricting it, that seems to be a non-issue as of now. Rodgers is going to do one of the many things he does best on Thursday night.
