The Green Bay Packers beat the Houston Texans 28-26 in their first preseason game of the 2019 NFL season.

Not only was it their first win of the 2019 year, but it was Matt LaFleur's first win as a head coach. He's pretty happy about that.

The Packers won thanks to some great play from their quarterbacks (DeShone Kizer and Tim Boyle). Kizer came into the NFL a few years ago as a quarterback many believed to be very raw, but have tons of potential.

He's getting the chance to learn under Aaron Rodgers though and that could be great for his potential. It will also speak volumes to how LaFleur is doing if he can get Kizer to reach some of that untapped potential.

For now though, the focus is on LaFleur completely. The Green Bay Packers have been disappointing the last two seasons. You could argue a big part of that has been Aaron Rodgers' health, but a lot of questions were brought up about the coaching as well.

That's what led to this coaching change and LaFleur getting his first shot as a head coach in the NFL.

A lot of questions are still left to be answered. Will the team buy into his system? Will he be able to help orchestrate a turnaround and get the franchise back on track in their winning ways?

These are all questions we'll have to wait to see if they're answered. For now though, the Matt LaFleur era has started off just about as good as the Packers could've hoped for. Even if it is ā€œjustā€ the preseason, he's still 1-0.
