The Green Bay Packers are known by many to have a shallow depth in their wideout room. The team's weakness still was not addressed by the front office during the offseason. For now, the Packers will need all the help it can get and Marquez Valdes-Scantling could be one they can turn to.

Packers insider Ryan Wood disclosed what Packers head coach Matt LaFleur thinks of the third-year pass-catcher on Twitter:

Valdes-Scantling played college football at NC State from 2013 to 2014 and South Florida from 2015 to 2017. He was then drafted by the Packers with the 174th pick in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Overall, he finished his rookie season with 38 receptions for 581 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. He finished seventh among rookies in receiving yards.

He finished the 2019 season with 26 receptions for 452 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. His numbers from 2019 regressed as compared to his tally in 2018, mainly because of his ankle problems. However, he still managed to appear in all 16 games and started in 10 appearances for two-straight seasons.

He joins three-time Pro Bowler Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Jake Kumerow, Equanimeous St. Brown, Malik Taylor, Darrius Shepperd, and Devin Funchess in the Packers' wide receivers room.

Valdes-Scantling's improvement will be crucial for the team's offense coupled with a shaky quarterback situation. Despite the odds heading into the upcoming season, the Packers are still one to feared by many teams.

They will hope to regain control of the NFC North division and hopefully make the Super Bowl stage, after falling one game short from it last season.
