Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur has met Aaron Rodgers before, but it was when he wasn't the head coach of the team, and he is ready to meet him for the second time and get ready for the upcoming season. The Packers' head coach was recently on “The Adam Schefter Podcast” and talked about the first time the two met a few years back.

“He was just in L.A. I was walking by and I heard all these people clamoring about, ‘oh there's Aaron Rodgers,'” LaFleur said. “I'm friends with Alex Van Pelt who was the quarterback coach at the time and I texted him and I said, ‘Hey, I just walked by your quarterback,' and he's like, ‘Well, I'm with him.'”

“I ended up meeting up with him and we just hung out for a couple of hours. But that's been the only face-to-face meeting that I ever had with him.”

When they met back then, the conversation wasn't about football and was rather just two guys hanging out having a good time.

Since taking over the job, LaFleur has talked to Rodgers a few times and those conversations have been more about building a relationship rather than talking X's and O's.

“None of it really has been about football because we can't do that,” LaFleur said. “I know how important our relationship is going to be. It's more or less getting to know the person. I can't wait to really sit down and dive into the football component.”
