The Green Bay Packers had yet another unsuccessful postseason run. After having the first-round bye, the Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round. Heading into the offseason, it is unclear whether or not Aaron Rodgers will remain the starting quarterback for Green Bay.

Matt LaFleur seems to want Rodgers to stay, as this most recent report from Packers beat writer Ryan Wood coincides with this storyline.

“I just want to do everything in my power to get him back here and make sure he's comfortable with the direction of our football team,” LaFleur said, per Wood. This is a powerful statement that is on par with his mindset on Monday, when he said he is “hopeful” that Rodgers returns next season.

Similar to Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rodgers is well into his NFL career and is still at peak levels of performance. The Packers quarterback threw 366 completions for 4,115 yards and 37 touchdowns in the regular season. He only recorded four interceptions in the process.

Rodgers is currently signed with the Packers on a four-year deal from 2018, which began in 2020 and expires following the 2022 season (Rodgers and Green Bay renegotiated the contract to void the final year of his contract, 2023, to clear cap space). It is unclear whether or not he played his final home game at Lambeau Field, and only time will tell.
