Entering Week 17, the Packers are currently sitting as the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoff picture. In his first season as the team's head coach, LaFleur has helped lead the Packers to an impressive 12-3 record thus far.

The Packers clinched the NFC North by defeating the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16. It is Green Bay's first time in first place in the division since the 2016 season.

Even though he's had early success as a head coach, LaFleur understands there is still plenty of room for improvement for his team. Green Bay can build upon their momentum by playing well against the Lions on Sunday.

With a win on Sunday, the Packers would remain as the No. 2 seed in the NFC and would receive a first-round bye in the postseason. On the other hand, they could make their lives more difficult by overlooking the Lions this week.

Therefore, LaFleur is telling the players in the locker room to treat this game like a playoff game. At the same time, it's tough to get players motivated to play a game in Week 17 against a team who is 3-11-1.

Nevertheless, Green Bay seems to be sneaking under the radar as a team that could represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. But before they start planning a trip to Miami in February, the Packers have to take care of business in Detroit on Sunday.
