The Green Bay Packers are expecting to see the departure of Aaron Rodgers following the team's embarrassing home playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Before Rodgers made his decision on his future with the team, the Packers already saw a crucial piece leave.

Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is set to become the next head coach of the Denver Broncos. He joined Green Bay as its OC the same season Matt LaFleur stepped in as the team's head coach and has helped Rodgers continue his excellence on the field. According to NFL Network's Kevin Patra, LaFleur will likely look to promote one of his own coaches to fill the OC void.

Green Bay hopes to fill its now vacant OC role from within, with quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy the prime candidate to take over.

Luke Getsy, who has been Green Bay's quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator since 2020, also interviewed for the Broncos' head coach job. He has been with the Packers since 2014, save for the 2016 season when he joined Mississippi State's coaching staff as an OC.

Although nailing this OC hire probably won't sway Rodgers' opinion, it is important nonetheless. Jordan Love, if he is set to take over, needs all the help he can get. Getsy has great familiarity with the roster but the front office has a lot of work to do in order to keep it intact.

Although Rodgers spoke positively about his relationship with Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst, the possibility of him finding a new home looms over the franchise.
