The Green Bay Packers made headlines with the hiring of new head coach Matt LaFleur, and it seems Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan approves of the move.

Ryan is certainly familiar with what LaFleur brings to the table. He said during an appearance on The ThomaHawk Show that he is confident that he and Rodgers would work well together:

“I think he’s built for long-term success,” Ryan said. “He has a system he believes in. He’s going to be a really good fit for what Aaron does. They can move him around. The zone run scheme is really good. The protection scheme keeps it simple. I think he’ll do a good job in Green Bay.”

Ryan's comments should come as no surprise. They enjoyed plenty of success together in Atlanta. LaFleur was Ryan's quarterbacks coach for two years and left after helping Ryan win league MVP.

When it comes to LaFleur, there is a similar pattern of praise when it comes to his former players. Ryan is not the only one to hold him in high regard.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff largely echoed the same sentiment about his former offensive coordinator from the 2017 campaign. It is clear that he has left quite an impression on quarterbacks he has coached.

There is no question that LaFleur has come a long way in just a short amount of time. We will now face his greatest challenge yet in trying to get Rodgers back to an MVP level.

All eyes will be fixed on the dynamic between the two moving forward.
