The Green Bay Packers are set to welcome the return of two-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers after a nearly two-month absence due to a fractured collarbone.

Since Rodgers was medically cleared earlier this week, the Packers have spoken quite optimistically about how the 34-year-old has looked in practice. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL.com, defensive end Mike Daniels voiced on Thursday that Rodgers looks to be in peak form heading into Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Said defensive end Mike Daniels: “Aaron is hungry, too. He's a competitor. I see him around here every day. You just feel it oozing off of him. He looks like himself. Even better.”

Green Bay needs every bit of that against the Panthers in Week 15 with major playoff implications hanging in the balance. At the time of his injury in Week 6, Rodgers was playing at an MVP-caliber level as he led the NFL with 13 touchdown passes and had already put together two comeback wins over the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys.

If he's even close to his normal self, it bodes quite well for the Packers' hopes of grabbing a huge win on the road against Carolina. Much of this lies on how Green Bay's offense can perform against one of the league's top defenses that ranks fifth overall and seventh against the pass.

Although Rodgers has made it clear he isn't back to save Green Bay's season, he will certainly play a huge role in determining how it unfolds.
