Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are fresh off of a crushing loss on the road against the Detroit Lions in Week 5. The loss dropped the Packers to a 2-2-1 record, and they are currently tied for the No. 2 spot in the NFC North division with the Minnesota Vikings behind the Chicago Bears.

While it has been a tough season, Rodgers has been displaying exactly what the Packers paid him for. He has been a leader for the young receivers, he has been a motivator for struggling teammates, and he has been a consistent star like usual.

Mike McCarthy, the Packers' head coach, praised Rodgers for everything he has been doing this season, especially with the knee injury that he has been dealing with. Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network shared the quotes from McCarthy on Twitter.

Rodgers has been magnificent as usual this season, especially given the circumstances. From the knee injury to his receivers being banged up and missing time, Rodgers has remained consistently great.

Throughout the first five games of the season, Rodgers has completed 63.0 percent of his pass attempts for 1,572 yards, 10 touchdowns, and just one interception. He has also picked up 77 yards on the ground even with his knee injury.

At 34 years old, Rodgers signed a contract extension with the Packers ahead of the season. More than likely, he will end up finishing his career with the Packers. Green Bay would certainly like to avoid another Brett Favre situation with their star quarterback.

Green Bay has the potential to contend in the NFC this season if they can stay healthy. Rodgers' knee injury is a major concern, but even with it, he is still one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

Expect to see the Packers figure things out, and Rodgers continue his impressive play. Green Bay may not end up winning the Super Bowl when everything is said and done, but the fans should be very proud with the way their franchise quarterback has been handling himself.
