There has been plenty of speculation regarding Ole Miss wide receiver DK Metcalf before the 2019 NFL Draft. It appears the Green Bay Packers are among his potential suitors.

There seem to be mixed reviews on where Metcalf will land. NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah has not ruled out Green Bay taking him with the 12th pick in the draft:

“I couldn't find the exact home form in my last mock draft,” Jeremiah said. I do believe he'll go in the first round. It's just a matter of finding that team and who that is. I wouldn't sleep on a team like the Baltimore Ravens would make some sense. Who knows what the Packers will do. I think those teams make some sense for him. I do think he ultimately ends up going in the first round.”

The prospect of the Packers selecting DK Metcalf is not too far-fetched. The Packers have made significant changes to their personnel this offseason with the hopes of a potential resurgence on offense. Bringing in a player with his potential could speed up the process.

DK Metcalf did not post the strongest numbers while at Ole Miss. However, he managed to turn heads with his spectacular outing at the NFL Scouting Combine. Although many have been an unpolished product on the field in college, such a rare combination of size and speed for a receiver has made him hard to ignore. If any quarterback is able to bring the best out of Metcalf, it should be Aaron Rodgers.

As the Packers consider their various options — most people think they will go for a lineman or another need within the tackle box, on offense or defense — it is always a possibility that they will try to furnish Rodgers with another formidable receiver in the passing game. DK Metcalf could be that man in 2019.
