The Green Bay Packers are out of playoff contention, but they still owe it their fans to finish this season on a positive note. However, there are a few Packers players, who are going to miss games late this year with various injuries. Green Bay is also in danger of missing a couple of outside linebackers in Nick Perry and Clay Matthews, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Not to mention that quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been ruled out for the rest of the season by placing him on the injured reserve list.

Perry is reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury that also kept him sidelined in Week 14’s 27-21 road win against the Cleveland Browns. He managed to return to the field in Week 15’s loss at the hands of the Carolina Panthers on the road, but appeared in just 24 snaps.

As for Clay Matthews, the 31-year-old veteran has been held out in practice this week because of an ailing hamstring.

It will be a big blow for the Packers’ defense if both Perry and Matthews are sidelined for the Vikings game. Matthews and Perry have combined for 14.5 of Green Bay’s 32 sacks so far this season with 7.5 and 7.0, respectively. Kyler Fackrell and Chris Odom should see an increased number of snaps in case both outside linebacker starters get ruled out.
