Never say that Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers can't take a punch. Ask his teammates and coaches. Ask Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ask golfers Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau.

Rodgers, who was promoting “The Match,” a made-for-TV golf event in which he and DeChambeau face Brady and Mickelson on July 6, was roasted by Brady about this year's NFC Championship Game. In that narrow defeat suffered by Aaron Rodgers, his boss — Packers head coach Matt LaFleur — made an atrocious decision to kick a late field goal instead of going for a touchdown on fourth and goal from the 8-yard line.

This exchange ensued between Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers:

This wasn't the only hilarious part of the Zoom call involving Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and their golf-star partners for “The Match.” For one thing, you can see that Rodgers was wearing a shirt which said, “I'm Offended.” For a player in the midst of a messy relationship with his NFL team, that is certainly a eye-grabber.

But wait, there's more! Asked in a very playful way by TNT's Brian Anderson about his offseason, Aaron Rodgers came back with this answer, which dripped with sarcasm:

“It's been one of those quiet offseasons you dream about, where you can kind of just go through your process on your own, quietly,” Aaron Rodgers said. “And that's all you can ask for as an older player in the league and someone who's been around for a long time and just enjoys that time to yourself, just relax, to not be bothered, to not have any obligations or anything going on.

“I think that's what this offseason has been about. It's been about really enjoying my time and spending it where I want to spend it, not feeling like I have to go anywhere but still be an NFL player at the same time. It's been great.”

Packers fans don't have to love this, but anyone else watching from the outside has to love it. Heavy sarcasm is usually very fun, and it adds to the soap-operatic feel of this unique offseason in Green Bay. Nothing has been resolved about this standoff between a future Hall of Fame QB and his NFL team, but Aaron Rodgers isn't going to lose his sense of humor as a result.
