Davante Adams has become one of the top wide receivers in the NFL over the past couple of years and the Green Bay Packers are expecting another monstrous season from him in 2019. If the Packers want to get back into playoff contention, they are going to need their offense to play much better than they did last year.

Despite the struggles that Green Bay had, Adams had a huge season in 2018. He ended up catching 111 passes for 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was the only consistent target that Aaron Rodgers had. Unfortunately, Rodgers was also dealing with a fairly serious knee injury that he suffered in Week 1.

Pro Football Focus took to Twitter to share an incredibly interesting stat for Adams from last season. They figured out that Adams ranked third in the NFL in yards gained on short receptions and fifth in receptions in the short game. That range would be passes from one to nine yards.

Most view Adams as a big-play threat that Rodgers loves targeting down the field. That being said, Adams is also one of the best possession receivers in the game.

He has shown the ability to run crisp short routes and get open across the middle or on slants. Green Bay's offense revolved around getting their receivers the ball with space to make plays after the catch. That may change in 2019 with new head coach Matt LaFleur's offensive system, but Adams was tough to stop in every aspect of the game last season.

Green Bay cannot wait to see what their offense has in store for 2019. Adams is the clear-cut No. 1 receiver, but the Packers feel that they have plenty of other talent at the position as well.

All of that being said, the Packers will need everyone to step up in order to move past their two straight losing seasons and get back into the playoffs.
