The entire football world was shocked when the Green Bay Packers announced that they were trading Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. We all knew that Adams and the Packers were at an impasse with regard to his new contract, but still, not too many saw this one coming.

Apparently, even Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb was taken completely by surprise by this turn of events. It took him a few days but he has now come out with an emotional farewell message for his now-former teammate:

“I’m still in shock.. @taeadams it was a pleasure to watch you grow into THE best in the league! I knew you had ‘IT’ your first camp but I’ve never witnessed anyone put it all together like you have. I saw it up close in person, from afar, and back again. The growing pains and the rise. The hardest part of getting to the top is staying there… somehow you have made it look easy. Whether it means anything to you or not… I’m proud of you- the man & the father. We’ll always be family! All love 1874L #Top2Not2,” Cobb wrote in his caption.

As they always say, All good things must come to an end, and in this case, Adams has decided to move on from his tenure with the Packers. The two-time All-Pro wide receiver will now ply his trade in Las Vegas, where he is expected to form a strong on-field partnership with Derek Carr.

For his part, Cobb should now expect to be targetted more by the great Aaron Rodgers this coming season. After all, someone will need to fill the massive void Adams has left in the offense. As a matter of fact, Cobb has a shot of becoming the reigning back-to-back MVP's top weapon in 2022. That is unless Green Bay decides to bring in a new star wideout. Nevertheless, the silver lining for Cobb here is that he's supposed to get better opportunities now that Adams is no longer in the picture.
