The Green Bay Packers suffered their first defeat of the season this past Sunday with a 28-17 loss to the Washington Redskins that featured struggles sustaining scoring drives.

Among those problems offensively was veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb putting together a tough outing that saw him make four catches for only 23 yards with two drops and a lost fumble. Cobb has voiced that it was his fault the Packers had their shortcomings against the Redskins, according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN

“I didn't give us an opportunity to win,” Cobb said. “A third-down drop on the first drive, the fourth-down drop, a fumble, I played terrible and I didn't give us an opportunity to win.” He wouldn't blame the rainy weather, either. “No, that has nothing to do with it,” he said. “We've played in these conditions before. It's on me.”

It was nothing short of a brutal performance for Cobb as he had major issues making a significant impact in the passing game. On top of that, the 28-year-old made those key mistakes that prevented his team from being able to put points on the board in crucial moments. Cobb has proven throughout his career he has the ability to step up in big situations with timely receptions, but this wasn't one of those outings for him.

However, the struggles went beyond just Cobb as the Packers had issues getting anything going to make up for their defensive struggles. Running back Adrian Peterson had his way with Green Bay in the running game, piling up 96 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. This put the Packers behind the 8-ball because they had to play from behind for much of the game.

Cobb and the Packers will have a chance to get back on track in Week 4 with a potentially favorable matchup against the Buffalo Bills at home.
