Adam Schefter dropped a pre-NFL Draft bomb Thursday afternoon when he reported Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has told some within the organization he wants out.

The report has drawn an immediate response from Brian Gutekunst.

The Packers general manager reiterated sentiments expressed earlier in the week regarding Rodgers' future in Green Bay. Gutekunst stated the organization plans on Rodgers being under center in the coming years:

“As we've stated since the season ended, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond,” Gutekunst said, via Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team.”

There is a very real lack of clarity with respect to this whole situation.

Schefter reported the Packers are fully aware of their quarterback's “disgruntled” attitude. He added multiple teams have expressed interest in trading for Rodgers, though those overtures have been met with hard rebuttals from Green Bay.

On the one hand, Rodgers' frustration would seem to stem from the lack of a contract extension. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports the situation could take care of itself if the two sides arrive at a number:

But there is another narrative here, one that suggests Rodgers is irked for matters beyond just contract talks.

Jay Glazer of FOX NFL Sunday corroborated Schetfer's report, adding his belief Rodgers is “strongly convicted” in not returning to the Packers in 2021:

It would appear there are a lot of details yet to be revealed. This is most certainly a developing story to watch.

For now, however, Gutekunst says the Packers still have no interest in trading Rodgers.
