Green Bay Packers punter JK Scott didn't punt once during the team's offseason practices that were open to the public, but according to special teams coordinator Shawn Mennenga it's is all part of the plan.

Scott was really strong last year to start the season, but once it turned cold in Green Bay, the rookie from Alabama,  struggling and there is a lot of pressure of him to be better this year.

After Scott didn't put during the open portion of practices, there were some questions if the team was trying to protect him. Mennenga said it's all part of the plan, and the goal is for him to be ready once the regular season rolls around in September.

“He’s obviously got a lot of talent,” Mennenga said via The Athletic. “We’re working on some things right now so if he doesn’t have a great day hitting the ball, we know it’s all part of the plan to get better. Because again, we want him to kick well at the beginning of September when the first game rolls around. So we’re working on some things to help him do that.”

Last season, Scott had nine touchbacks which was seven more than Justin Vogel had the year before in 2018. Scott needs to work on that along with being more consistent each week. If he struggles again this season, especially when it gets cold, the Packers could be looking for a different punter to lead their special teams unit.
