The rivalry games between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears has been one of the NFL's most heated matches over the past couple of years. Tramon Williams said some things during the post-game presser against the Bears that added more fuel to the fire. However, Williams was quick to dismiss the allegations.

The veteran defensive back made these comments about Williams after their Week 1 win.

“We wanted to make Mitch play quarterback. We knew they had a lot of weapons, we knew they were dangerous, we knew all of those things. But we knew if we could make Mitch play quarterback, that we'd have a chance.”

Some saw this as a throwback to Charles Woodson, a former Packer and Williams' old teammate who talked trash to then-Bears QB Jay Cutler in 2012.

But as ESPN's Rob Demovsky notes, Williams has attempted to defuse the situation.

“I definitely wasn't [taking] a shot at Mitch,” Williams said. “I was talking more about the way their offense is built. Mitch is a guy that the way their offense and their team is built, they have a bunch of a weapons. They are dangerous. They added Cordarrelle Patterson, they've got [Tarik] Cohen, obviously Allen Robinson and Gabe [Taylor Gabriel] — a lot of dangerous guys out there. We're trying to keep the ball out of their hands. Mitch, obviously, has the talent to play that position.”

Trubisky played poorly against the Packers as he went just 26 of 45 for 228 yards and threw one crucial interception which clinched the win for the Packers. Williams and the Packers secondary had his number.

But despite Williams' clarification, the damage has been done. He words have likely done nothing to appease the angry Bears fans who want nothing more than to see Green Bay lose when they meet again in December.
