Rodger Saffold is one of the top impending free agents that will be on the market when the offseason comes around. There are quite a few teams that could use an upgrade on their offense line, but one team in particular might make perfect sense to sign Saffold this offseason.

Bleacher Report went out and made the bold claim that the Green Bay Packers should try to sign Saffold this offseason to help fix the offensive line woes that they have had over the last couple of seasons.

Rodgers has already been sacked 39 times this season. That's a problem. This is why adding a quality interior offensive lineman like Los Angeles Rams guard Rodger Saffold makes perfect sense, regardless of scheme.

If Green Bay can get three to four prime years from Saffold to support perhaps Rodgers' last few prime seasons, it absolutely should.

Aaron Rodgers desperately needs more help on the offensive line. He has seen his line go down with injury after injury and has paid the price at times this season. Opposing defenses have been getting to Rodgers and that is something that no team wants to see their franchise quarterback have to deal with.

Green Bay will be headed into a new era of football next season. Mike McCarthy was fired a couple weeks ago and the Packers will be searching for a new head coach. Joe Philbin could make a push for the job, but it seems likely that the Packers will look elsewhere regardless of how they finish the 2018 season.

Add in the fact that general manager Brian Gutekunst is not the same kind of “sit back and take it easy” guy as Ted Thompson was, and the Packers could be in for a fun offseason.

Saffold is going to be a coveted free agent this offseason with plenty of teams chasing him, but the Packers might be an ideal fit for him and they could certainly use an offensive lineman with his skill-set.
