There is big drama in the Green Bay Packers organization. Reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has told some members of the team that he doesn't want to return to Green Bay. This issue started in last year's draft when they traded up to draft quarterback Jordan Love in the first round. Some people assumed this was a contract issue as they have not reached an agreement on an extension but it does not seem that is the only reason, according to Jay Glazer.

General manager of the Packers Brian Gutekunst responded in a statement saying “As we've stated since the season ended, we are committed to Aaron in 2021 and beyond. Aaron has been a vital part of our success and we look forward to competing for another championship with him leading our team.” Green Bay has rejected any trade offer they have gotten for Rodgers so far but that may change if he refuses to return.

Green Bay should do anything they can to keep him in Green Bay. While a contract extension may not be the solution, maybe trading away Jordan Love could convince him to stay with the team. Rodgers is the main reason why they are competitive every season. He has taken them to two straight NFC championship games falling just short of a Super Bowl appearance this last season. Rodgers is coming off of the best season in his career as he took home his third MVP.

Whatever reason he wants out, the Green Bay Packers need to do whatever they can to keep the future hall of fame quarterback in Green Bay.
