Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is unlikely to play versus the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 on “Sunday Night Football,” said Adam Schefter on ESPN's “Monday Night Countdown.”

Adams is considered day to day with an injured toe. The Packers wide receiver was injured in the fourth quarter of Week 4's “Thursday Night Football” bout against the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the injury, Adams finished the game leading Green Bay in catches (ten) and recorded a career-high in receiving yards (180).

If out, as Schefter notes, the Packers will have to turn to Marques Valdez-Scantling and Geronimo Allison to fill the void out-wide.

Those guys are going to have to fill the void if he's not able to go,” coach Matt LaFleur said Monday, via the Miami Herald. “Obviously, that would create a pretty significant void but it is the next man has got to step up. It's not like our standards and expectations are going to change. Certainly, we have to be mindful of what we're asking certain guys to do because when you have a receiver like Davante, I don't think there's a route that he cannot run. He's a dynamic receiver but those other guys, it creates opportunities for other guys to step up and make some plays.”

The Packers offense isn't the same without Adams, who is considered to be one of the NFL's top wide receivers. Nonetheless, they'll have to prep for the 3-1 Cowboys as if he's not playing. While he can defy expectations, it appears the Packers will continue to prepare without him.
