The Green Bay Packers have a big offseason ahead of them if they hope to regroup and come back strong in the 2020 NFL season. It appears they may be looking to make a splash in free agency by signing Atlanta Falcons tight end Austin Hooper.

Hooper is set to test the market as a free agent this offseason. According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, the Packers are among the teams that will be trying to sign him.

Hooper has established himself as one of the most promising young tight ends in the league, and he solidified that notion by hauling in 75 receptions for 787 yards and six touchdowns en route to his second Pro Bowl during the 2019 NFL season. Despite the talent he has showcased so early on in his career, the Falcons have opted to let him test the waters in free agency.

Of course, the Packers are not the only team that will be targeting Hooper this offseason. The Chicago Bears are reportedly also hoping to take a run to acquire his services. It is safe to say that neither team wants to see a player of his caliber go to a division rival.

Fortunately for Green Bay, Chicago is still weighed down by the deal agreed upon with tight end Trey Burton. Although teams are waiting for the new collective bargaining agreement before moving forward with the offseason, Austin Hooper should have his pick of the litter when the time comes.
