The Green Bay Packers are committing to Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback, having signed him to a massive deal this offseason. That leaves Jordan Love destined to either serve as a backup in Green Bay until his rookie contract expires or as a possible trade piece for the Packers. Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport revealed what he expects the Packers would be seeking in any deal for Love.

Packers executive Brian Gutekunst had some cryptic comments regarding Love's future with the organization, prompting McAfee to ask Rapoport whether or not the team was going to move on from their former first-round pick.

Rapoport indicated that the Packers would likely be willing to accept a second or third-round pick in exchange for Love, though he doesn't believe a team has put forth that type of offer. More likely, Rapoport believes would be willing to part with a later pick, perhaps a fourth or fifth-rounder, though he has doubts as to whether that would be enough for the Packers to move on from Love.

“The problem is, his value as a backup is real. That is an important thing. I guarantee someone would trade a fifth-rounder for Jordan Love, I'm sure somebody would trade a fourth-rounder for Jordan Love. But is that enough for the Packers, God forbid something happens to Aaron Rodgers, is that enough for the Packers to say ‘you know what, we'll do this, we'll figure it out later?'” said Rapoport.

Rapoport did clarify that he was just pulling the draft capital from the top of his head, but it does stand to reason that the Packers would be holding out in hopes of landing a third-rounder for Love.

Love was the Packers' first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft but has featured in just six games for the team, making one start.
