Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham left Thursday night’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a thumb injury and did not return. And if initial impressions of his injury turn out to be accurate, Graham could miss more time due to the injury.

According to Michael Silver of NFL.com, Graham’s thumb injury is “feared to be serious.”

Graham had one catch for 13 yards last night and has 34 catches for 452 yards and two touchdowns for the season. He has already been dealing with a knee injury for most of the season, but it hasn’t made him miss any games.

Graham came in with a lot of hype heading into the season after signing with the Packers in free agency. But he has had quite an underwhelming campaign and has not been much of a factor in the Green Bay offense.

Nevertheless, his potential absence would be another huge blow for a Packers team that’s already short on reliable receiving weapons. Randall Cobb missed out on the Seahawks game with a hamstring injury, while Geronimo Allison is out for the year after undergoing core muscle surgery.

Rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling has done well to make the most out of his opportunities to play given the injuries to Allison and Cobb. However, he was kept silent by the Seahawks as he had just one catch for eight yards.

The Packers will have an extra three days’ rest before their next game against the Minnesota Vikings on Nov. 26. The hope is Graham’s thumb injury doesn’t turn out to be as serious as feared and that the extra time might allow him to heal in time to play in that huge rivalry game.
