The Detroit Lions defense has become familiar with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers over the years. Perhaps that's why the Lions were able to thoroughly flummox Rodgers through the first two and a half quarters of Sunday's matchup. But the future Hall of Famer wouldn't be held down for long, eventually connecting with top target Davante Adams for a third quarter touchdown strike.

After missing the first showdown between the Packers and Lions earlier this season, Adams found pay dirt for the fifth time in 2019. In his lone trip to Ford Field last year, he scorched the Lions' secondary to the tune of nine receptions for 140 yards and a score.
For Detroit, Sunday's contest was merely about rivalry pride. For the Packers, they have their eyes firmly upon getting a first-round bye in the postseason and avoiding a first-round matchup versus another rival in Minnesota. Undoubtedly, if the Packers want to raise another Lombardi trophy, the Rodgers-to-Adams connection will need to be clicking on all cylinders like it was in the red zone versus the Lions.
