The Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings are locked into a huge NFC North showdown this week. While it may be an early season game, there could be a lot on the line in this game. That's why Preston Smith's interception off of a deflection from a Kirk Cousins pass was such a big deal in the first half.

With Minnesota looking to cut down the Packers' 21-7 lead, Cousins was picked up by the veteran linebacker. It was a big play that ended what had appeared to be a positive drive from the Vikings.

Take a look at Smith's big interception and his first as a member of the Packers for yourself:

Green Bay started this game off with a 21-0 lead and looked to be ready to step on the Vikings' throats. Unfortunately, things changed and the Packers are heading into the locker room at halftime with a 21-10 lead. Minnesota will have the football to begin the second half.

Cousins has had a rough go of it this week against the Packers' defense. Minnesota has had a couple of huge plays, but the Packers have been getting to Cousins early and often. If things are going to change, the Vikings will need to see a much bigger second half from Cousins and the offense.

Smith signed a huge contract this offseason and some thought Green Bay overpaid. So far, he has proved all of the critics wrong and has been a huge part of a defensive turnaround for Green Bay.
