Paddy Pimblett has kicked off his UFC career with a bang. The Liverpool native earned a first-round knockout in his UFC debut.

In July he sat down with the popular MMA YouTube channel ‘MMA On Point' to discuss some of the biggest personalities in the UFC.

He had a lot to say on many fighters but it was his comments on Sean O'Malley that brought the most attention.

“He’s a bit of a bitch ass,” Pimblett told MMA On Point. “Hurts his ankle and blames his loss on that. He’s a little pothead. O’Malley’s stoned half the time. He’s got good strikes, he’s got good stand up, but as soon as he gets in there with a decent grappler he’s gonna get beat. I like people who interact with the fans, without fans we wouldn’t be where we are now. The fact that he does makes me like him.”

While some like to fantasize about different stars fighting each other, it's important to remember that these two men are in different weight classes. Paddy Pimblett competes at 155 while Sean O'Malley is two weight classes down at 135.

O'Malley became familiar with the comments from the Englishman and responded on his podcast. More confused by the call out than anything else.

“I didn’t know he was talking shit about me,” O’Malley said on his podcast. “That’s not nice. I wonder why people just assume I have bad grappling. It’s just weird that people assume because I’m a good striker that I must be a bad grappler. Maybe he just knows … talk bad about me, it’s publicity. He obviously knows what he’s doing as far as marketing himself.”

The odds of anything coming from this back and forth are extremely low but it is an interesting one. Both men are stars in their own right and many have them tipped to be future champions.
