San Diego Padres fans held their breathe when shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. fell down to the ground in agony, clutching his shoulder, in their game against the San Francisco Giants on April 5. Many believed the 22-year old would be done for the season. However, Tatis Jr. may actually miraculously make his return to the field way sooner than anyone would have predicted.

According to Jon Morosi of The MLB Network, the Padres are expected to activate Tatis Jr., just nearly two weeks after the scary-looking injury. This comes ahead of their highly-anticipated series against the defending MLB champion Los Angeles Dodgers.

It is definitely a welcome sight for Padres fans. Likewise, it is also going to be treat for baseball fans in general, as the Dodgers-Padres rivalry won't be devoid of San Diego's 22-year old superstar. It seems like Tatis Jr.'s injury wasn't as bad as it initially appeared when he suddenly dropped after swinging for the fences.

Nevertheless, the thought of Tatis Jr. re-aggravating his injury shouldn't leave the minds of the San Diego faithful. That's why Tatis Jr. has been ramping up his baseball activities and is reportedly looking to change up his follow through to lessen the probability of  adding further damage to his already ailing shoulder.

Fernando Tatis Jr. had an amazing 2020 campaign that saw him finish 4th in the National MVP race with the Padres. His stellar campaign, unfortunately, ended at the hands of the eventual champion Dodgers. Perhaps exacting his revenge on the team that eliminated the Padres is adding more motivation for Tatis Jr. to make it back to the field just in time.
