The San Diego Padres secured the win on Wednesday after Mike Clevinger put on a spectacular display on the mound. After struggling recently, it was nice seeing the organization get back in the win column. However, after the game, Clevinger delivered a stern message to Arizona Diamondbacks announcer Bob Brenley.

During the postgame interview, the Padres pitcher voiced his frustration with the lack of respect his teammates receive from opposing commentators. Mike Clevinger looked right into the camera as he delivered his message which was clearly directed toward Bob Brenley. Perhaps we'll hear Brenley clap back, but the ball is officially on his side of the court right now after Clevinger called him out.

This is something Padres fans can get fired up about. The franchise tends to be overlooked by the rest of the league, especially right now with Fernando Tatis Jr. on the injury list for at least a few more weeks. Regardless, Mike Clevinger challenges Brenley to meet some of the players in San Diego and give the franchise the respect it deserves.

Whether Bob Brenley follows through is yet to be determined. At the very least, we may see a little back and forth between Clevinger and the Diamondbacks announcer. Even so, the best line of action is for the Padres to focus their attention on the games ahead, as they're only one game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the NL West.

Look for Mike Clevinger to continue playing at a high level, as he's been a standout pitcher this year. Through seven games, he's recorded 31 strikeouts, a 1.10 WHIP, a 2.79 ERA, and two wins for the Padres. As long as he keeps playing like that, San Diego should be in the hunt for the playoffs.
