After getting off to a 3-0 start, it's been anything but smooth sailing for the Carolina Panthers. They seem to have lost their momentum and have had trouble establishing any kind of groove over the past four weeks. Now that they've taken a free fall to the bottom of the NFC South, the Panthers find themselves in a bind as they continually run the risk of missing out on this year's playoffs.

As they work to avoid a fifth straight loss, it goes without saying that there are some big changes in order for this struggling Panthers squad. With the NFL trade deadline fast approaching, let's now take a look at the two best trades the Panthers must pursue ahead of the November 3rd deadline.

Nick Foles

As a Super Bowl winning quarterback with a track record of turning around struggling offenses, Nick Foles could be the answer for Carolina. Especially with the Panthers continually digging themselves deeper into the hole they've already made for themselves. His veteran leadership and fundamental approach to the game would give the Panthers a reliable playmaker in the pocket who could steer this team back in the right direction.

This may not be the most exciting move, but it is the most logical one for them to make prior to the NFL trade deadline. Foles also has a history of winning over the respect of his teammates and would be a great locker room presence for a Panthers team that would benefit greatly from having a proven winner under center for them. With Sam Darnold regressing as of late, a change at quarterback is something that the Panthers should definitely look into this season.

Ronald Jones II

Now that Leonard Fournette has become more of a factor for the Bucs and takes up more of the snaps in Tampa Bay, Ronald Jones II seems to have fizzled out of the rotation. With the uncertainty surrounding Christian McCaffrey's return date to the Panthers line-up, making a play for Jones II would prove to be a beneficial one for Carolina. Especially if they want to re-establish their running game and add some depth to their rushing attack.

The addition of Jones II would also give a ton of relief to CMC while he continuously works to get back to full health. As a Super Bowl champion and dual threat running back, Jones II  would give them another reliable offensive weapon outside of D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson. He would also be able to help them elevate their offensive play on the ground and through the air.

Plus with his championship experience, Ronald Jones II would be able to impart some wisdom on this Panthers squad as they aim to return to NFC supremacy while fighting their way back to the top of the NFC South. This move won't necessarily make them instant title contenders, but it will give them a well-rounded offensive player who could help them progress and get back on the winning track as they hope to nab a wild card spot in the top-heavy NFC.
