Atlanta Falcons punter Matt Bosher applied one of the biggest hits you will ever see by a punter on Sunday afternoon, drilling Carolina Panthers returner Kenjon Barner in the first half of the Falcons' win.

Afterward, Barner had some fun at his own expense, tweeting that Barner's hit was “disrespectful”:

See, this is great.

All in good fun.

Bosher's hit fired up Atlanta in the win, as Falcons head coach Dan Quinn noted after the game, per Will McFadden of Atlanta's official team website:

“When the hit happened today, it was clearly one that got everybody excited,” said Quinn. “Sometimes you catch them just right … He’ll have a highlight for himself for years to come.”

Heck, this was probably the highlight of the Falcons' season, period.

It has not exactly been a great year in Atlanta, as the Falcons are 6-9 and will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2015. Last season, Atlanta won 10 games and lost in the Divisional Round of the postseason to the Philadelphia Eagles, and two years ago, the Falcons famously blew a 28-3 lead against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Things haven't been too hot in Carolina this season, either.

The Panthers also own a record of just 6-9, but the difference is that they began the year by winning six of their first eight games and seemed poised to contend in the NFC. However, a seven-game losing streak derailed their playoff chances and led to Carolina shutting Cam Newton down for the final two games of the regular season due to shoulder issues.
