Offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse has a new home in the NFL. That’s after the Buffalo Bills shipped him to the Carolina Panthers, according to Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL.

The Panthers later added some clarity about the transaction with Bryan Strickland of the team’s official website reporting further details.

The Panthers have reworked their depth at offensive tackle with another trade, acquiring hulking veteran Marshall Newhouse from the Bills in exchange for a future conditional draft pick.

It’s not difficult to get a grasp why the Panthers have made a move retooling their offensive line. For one, left tackle Matt Kalil and right tackle Daryl Williams are currently on injured reserve, while right guard Trai Turner has missed the last two games with a concussion.

To make space for Marshall Newhouse on Carolina’s 53-man roster, the Panthers decided to waive offensive tackle Corey Robinson. Newhouse joins Carolina’s offensive line that has allowed six sacks through three games this season.

Newhouse is likely going to share the left tackle role with Chris Clark, who was signed by the Panthers earlier his month following Williams’ designation to the injured reserve list.

The 29-year-old Newhouse was taken by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft and also had stints with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, and Oakland Raiders.

He appeared in all of the Bills’ last three games with 14 snaps on offense and 11 more with the special teams.
