Cam Newton's future with the Carolina Panthers was up in the air this offseason. However, new Panther head coach Matt Rhule announced on Tuesday that Newton will be Carolina's quarterback next season.

While rehabbing an injury that kept him out for the majority of last season, Newton let his feelings known in an Instagram post of him working out.

In the video, Newton states “I’m so comfortable being uncomfortable.” The former MVP then follows that up by stating, “All I want is a little commitment. And you can’t give me that?”

While Rhule has given Newton a vote of confidence as the team's quarterback going future, Newton is going into the final season of his contract and after next season, his future is largely uncertain as of now.

After winning the league's Most Valuable Player in 2015, Newton has yet to recapture that same success. Injuries have plagued the former Auburn star for the last two seasons as he has played in just two games last season and played through an injury the year before.

When healthy, Newton is a capable quarterback. It seems that Rhule and his brand new staff with the Panthers are comfortable in putting their faith in the fact that Newton will be able to regain his status as a star in the league.

At 31 years old, Newton certainly isn't getting younger but with weapons like Christian McCaffrey and D.J. Moore at his disposal next year, Newton will likely need a good season if he wants to remain with the Panthers for the foreseeable future.
