Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has endured his fair share of struggles as of late. However, that does not seem to have affected his confidence going into the 2018 NFL season.

Newton is well-known for the swagger he brings to the game. According to ESPN's David Newton, the Panthers' star solidified that notion during training camp.

“Let me tell you something,” Newton said. “Ain't nobody drippin like I'm drippin.”

In other words, no player provides what Newton can. By many estimations, he is correct.

The Panthers' star redefined the quarterback position upon entering the NFL. Newton's prototypical size, arm, and uncanny mobility made him virtually unstoppable for defenses to contain. He solidified that notion during the 2015 NFL season when he led Carolina back to the Super Bowl en route to MVP honors.

Unfortunately, Newton has experienced a bit of a downfall amidst the Panthers' recent struggles. Although he still shows flashes of the unstoppable force he once was, his consistency has fallen by the wayside a bit. He finished the 2017 campaign with 3,302 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions — the most since his rookie year. As a result, he found himself relying on his legs more than ever after registering a career-high 139 carries for 754 yards and six touchdowns.

The uptick in carries is indicative of Newton's struggles in the passing game. As a result, Carolina did what they could to help surround him with more stability, starting with the addition of offensive coordinator Norv Turner. It will be interesting to see if Turner can help Newton get back to MVP form this season.
