The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a one-year deal with wide receiver Pharoh Cooper, according to the official team website. The money amount of the contract hasn’t been disclosed.

After having an outstanding at the University of South Carolina, the Los Angeles Rams selected Cooper in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. In his second season in the NFL, Cooper earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors as a returner with 932 yards and a touchdown.

After finishing the 2018 season with the Arizona Cardinals, Cooper was released and was later picked up by the Cincinnati Bengals. Cooper started the 2019 season with the Bengals, however, was waived one game into the season and was then picked up by the Cardinals.

This past season, Cooper saw action in 13 games, recording a career-high 25 receptions for 243 yards and a touchdown. The 25-year-old also returned 25 kickoffs for 561 yards and 17 punts for 129 yards.

Throughout his four-year career, Cooper has recorded 50 receptions for 433 yards. As a returner, he’s averaged 24.3 yards on 86 kick returns and 9.9 yards on 62 punts. Cooper has also played for three different NFL teams, the Rams, Cardinals, and the Bengals before landing with the Panthers.

Copper had a phenomenal college career at South Carolina, as he was a two-time All-SEC selection earning honors both as a receiver and returner. His best college season was in 2015, where he had 873 receiving yards along with 111 rushing yards with 9 total touchdowns. As a punter, he recorded 55 yards on 12 punt return opportunities.

Nevertheless, Cooper will now be returning home for his fifth season in the NFL.
