The Carolina Panthers have reportedly met with West Virginia Mountaineers quarterback Will Grier.

CBS Sports is reporting that the team's brass is following what they said they were going to do — find a quarterback through the NFL Draft and Combine — especially with the health concerns that Cam Newton has gone through.

The question, of course, is how much longer Cam Newton can stay in the game.

And that's sort of where the possibility of bringing Grier on board comes in.

Grier reportedly met with Panthers offensive coordinator Norv Turner and quarterbacks coach Scott Turner over a rather nice dinner, because that's how the brass butters up their prospective players. Grier also met with the Washington Redskins, and is set to meet with the New York Giants on Thursday.

Grier is just one of several Charlotte prospects in the NFL Draft, a group that also includes North Carolina State center Garrett Bradbury, South Carolina Gamecocks wide receiver Deebo Samuel, Clemson Tigers cornerback Mark Fields II (who would be a legacy hire, as he's the son of former Panthers linebacker Mark Fields), and Duke Blue Devils quarterback Daniel Jones.

Earlier in the week, it was suggested that Grier was also in the market for meeting with the Patriots, and that as many as 10 teams have expressed an interest in the professional hopeful.

Grier is currently viewed as a second-tier quarterback this year with Dwayne Haskins and Kyler Murray being the top two.

We will keep you posted on where he ultimately lands, as the market certainly seems to be in his favor.
