The Carolina Panthers traded up in the second-round of the 2019 NFL Draft to select Greg Little with the 37th-overall pick. According to Darin Gantt of ProFootballTalk.com, they've now officially signed the offensive tackle to his rookie deal.

The Carolina Panthers clearly have big plans for Greg Little. You don't trade up to the very early parts of the second-round for an offensive tackle without expecting him to be a major part of your future.

In fact, with the current setup the Panthers have, there's a very good chance Little ends up starting at left tackle right away.

Carolina could have a much improved offensive line in 2019, and Little could be a major reason why. This would bode well for them as their two most important assets are quarterback Cam Newton and running back Christian McCaffrey. Making sure they're well protected should be one of the top priorities of the team.

With Little signed, Carolina has locked up every draft pick from 2019 except for one – their 2019 first-rounder Brian Burns. The pass-rusher would have an immediate on their defense and like Little would definitely have a strong chance of playing right away.

With Little signed, all the focus will be on Burns. Due to that, expect him to sign relatively soon.

For the meantime though, Panthers fans can be happy that Greg Little is now locked up for the next four years. They have what they expect to be their franchise left tackle in the 21-year-old rookie. That's something every team covets.
