All eyes will be on Cam Newton's return to the field during training camp this week. Although, Matt Paradis will also be on the field for the first time with the Carolina Panthers.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Paradis will be a full-go for training camp. Last season, Paradis suffered a fractured fibula that forced him to be placed on injured reserve.

Paradis has spent the past five seasons with the Denver Broncos—starting in the past four. Then, this offseason, Denver decided to let him test free agency after suffering an injury in 2018.

The Panthers were in need of some help along the offensive line and decided to sign Paradis. Signing Paradis was important as the Panthers will focus on protecting Newton as he recovers from a shoulder injury he suffered last season.

Over the course of his career, Newton has taken a bevy of unnecessary hits. Therefore, Ron Rivera and Carolina knew they would need to add someone to help keep Newton upright as much as possible.

Last season, Paradis was vital to the Broncos offense being able to run the ball effectively with Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman. The Broncos finished the season as the 12th ranked rushing offense while the Panthers ranked fourth in the NFL.

Now, Paradis gets to lead the way for Christian McCaffrey who is becoming one of the best running backs in the NFL. Despite his injury last season, Paradis is expected to be ready for training camp this week. That comes at the demise of New York Jets fans who know that their team had a chance to land Paradis.
