Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey has high hopes for his career, and one of his main goals is to join the 1K/1K club. Only two other players in NFL history have had 1,000 receiving yards and 1,000 rushing yards, and McCaffrey would like to be the third.

Last season, McCaffrey almost reached the accomplishment and said that it was a bit of a disappointment that he couldn't get the job done:

“I got a lot of goals that I keep to myself, but one goal is definitely the 1K/1K club,” the Panthers running back recently told ESPN.com. “I almost did it last year and it was a bummer not getting it. Two guys have done it — Marshall Faulk and Roger Craig — and there’s a race to be the third. There’s a lot of backs in the league who can get there.”

McCaffrey rushed for 1,098 yards and finished with 867 receiving yards, which put him just short. The most impressive part of the receiving number is he did it on 107 catches, so if he can get just a catch or two more every game, he should be able to get past 1,000 receiving yards.

The Panthers had a down year as a team last season, but the expectations are that this team will be a playoff competitor. McCaffrey's production will play a major role in getting Carolina back in the playoffs. If he can reach the 1K mark in both rushing and receiving, maybe this team can make another run at the Super Bowl.
