Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey has been catching a lot of passes this off-season from Cam Newton and likes what he sees from the franchise quarterback.

Newton had surgery to repair his shoulder and offensive coordinator Norv Turner changed his throwing motion to make it as “efficient as possible.”

They also wanted to take some pressure off the shoulder in hopes that Newton won't have to go through another surgery to repair it again.

McCaffrey admits he hasn't noticed a huge difference in the throwing motion but does think he looks good throwing the ball.

“As far as his throwing motion goes, I have no idea. Looks good to me,” McCaffrey said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “He throws the ball and he’s been throwing it well. I really haven’t picked up on anything specific. Kinda just focused on catching it when he does throw to me.”

Last season Newton had a real problem throwing the ball down the field and was eventually shut down to not cause any more damage to it. This season the expectation is that Newton is going to be fully healthy and won't have any limitations with throwing the ball.

Last season the Panthers finished with a 7-9 record which tied them for second place in the NFC South with the Atlanta Falcons.

That isn't good enough for the team and the expectation is that they are a playoff team every year.

If they want that to happen this year the first step is keeping Newton healthy the entire year.
