The Carolina Panthers did not look great last season at quarterback. The Sam Darnold experiment did not work out for them at all, and the ensuing chaos at QB only made things worse. There's a reason why the team was initially in the running for Deshaun Watson, and has been linked to other notable quarterbacks this offseason.

One of the names floating around as the new Panthers quarterback is Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns. However, one player who vocally objected to this rumor was wide receiver Robby Anderson, who blasted the Baker Mayfield rumors with a simple Instagram comment.

After that comment of his went viral (and his subsequent comments on the Panthers' rumors of signing Colin Kaepernick), Anderson tweeted out a cryptic message. The wide receiver's tweet seems to say that he doesn't care if he gets backlash for his comments, as he said:

Well, he certainly kept it real with his comments. However, Anderson really has no say in this matter. The Panthers are definitely looking at a solution at quarterback, but Anderson's choice of Kaepernick isn't a good option. At 40 years old, it's unclear if the former 49ers QB still has gas left in the tank.

Mayfield, on the other hand, is still pretty young. Yes, he had a bad season last year, but a major part of it was a shoulder injury that ruined his mechanics. If Baker's healthy, he's proven that he's better than Sam Darnold or the current version of Cam Newton that the Panthers are trotting out.

Who knows, though? Maybe Anderson just doesn't like Mayfield
at all. We'll see what the Panthers decide to do at quarterback in this offseason.
